ABSTRACT (http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/xpls/abs_all.jsp?arnumber=5430538)
This article is an overview of the system and architecture requirements
of middleware for the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7)-funded usability
of music for social inclusion of children (UMSIC) project. The main
objective of the UMSIC project is to use modern mobile technologies to
increase social inclusion among children. In this article, the general
architecture and the components of the UMSIC middleware are described
and its relation to the requirements set by the scenarios is presented.
In addition, the relation of the UMSIC project and PeerHood, an existing
implementation of peer-to-peer communications and neighborhood concept,
is described.

ABSTRACT
Service orientation is an acknowledged approach for its capability to
abstracting computing from the underlying hardware and software layers.
Furthermore, service orientation can also be seen as dominant paradigm
for application development. As future networks are required to behave
in a dynamic manner, sufficient coordination at abstract level of
middleware deployments is required. Peer-to-Peer networking has shown
capability in absorbing service orientation and dynamic behavior. In
this paper, services for Peer-to-Peer networking in UMSIC project are introduced.

ABSTRACT
In this paper the scenarios, stand-alone, ad hoc, public and networked, of FP7 funded UMSIC project are presented. The objective of these scenarios is to use innovative mobile communication technologies and music technologies to enable social inclusion of children. This paper presents the current status and narration of scenarios. The scenarios were constructed based on the overall goals of the UMSIC project. After the scenarios were constructed, they were used as starting points when collecting the requirements for musical engineering, user interfaces and communication between devices as well as designing the implementation of JamMo application and UMSIC middleware supporting it.

System and Architecture requirements for UMSIC middleware 2009, p. 4, Wireless World Research Forum 23rd Meeting 20-22 of October 2009 in Beijing, China.
ABSTRACT
In this paper an overview of system and architectural requirements of middleware in FP7 funded UMSIC project are described. One of the objectives of the UMSIC project is to use modern mobile technologies to enable social inclusion. In the project the social inclusion of children is achieved through the use of a mobile application utilizing modern network technologies. This paper presents collected and derived requirements for the realization of the UMSIC middleware and the architecture. The requirements are gathered from scenarios which describe the usage of the application from the user point of view. One of the scenarios is used as an example. The specification for the UMSIC middleware and its architecture is derived from the requirements. In this paper the general architecture and the components of the UMSIC middleware is described and the relation to requirements set by scenarios is presented. In addition the relation of the UMSIC project and PeerHood, an existing implementation of Peer-to-Peer communications and neighborhood concept, is described including the benefits, which can be gained when using the approach provided by PeerHood.
